Individuals that have no accounting or bookkeeping knowledge but would like to manage a business accounting, he/she should take the Financial Accounting – bookkeeping (FA) course. As a beginner, This bookkeeping course will introduce he/she to the fundamentals of accounting where they can develop a good understanding and the importance of business accounting, and follow the best accounting practices set out by the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

After taking the FA-bookkeeping course, they can move into the computerized accounting which includes: QuickBooks, SAGE 50, and SAGE 300.

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING – BOOKKEEPING

In this course, students will learn manual accounting using GAAP, where they will analyze financial transactions, journalize financial transactions, post to the general ledger, post to the Trial Balance, and create financial statements including Income Statement, Statement of Retained Earnings and Balance Sheet.

QUICKBOOKS FUNDAMENTALS

This course is design for individuals who have no accounting experience but will be supporting the accounting department.

Create Estimates, Customer Invoices & Receipts, Receive Customer Payments, Make bank deposits• Track credit card purchases

QUICKBOOKS LEVEL 1

This course is a continuation of Financial Accounting – bookkeeping training and is designed for students who have accounting knowledge. They will enter financial transactions into QuickBooks desktop accounting software.

Students will learn to navigate between the QuickBooks menus and desktop and will use features such as Customer, Vendor, and Employee Centre.

Set up a chart of accounts
Setup vendors and customers
Create, email, and/or print estimates then convert to customer invoices
Create, print, and/or email sales receipts
Setup vendors and customers
Reconcile your chequeing account and credit card statements

QUICKBOOKS LEVEL 2

This course is a continuation of QuickBook Level 2 and is designed for students who want advanced their knowledge using QuickBooks. They will be responsible to prepare and customize different reports, securing QuickBooks, and resolving transaction issues.

Setup a company including registration and company ownership
Customize the Chart of Accounts including payables and receivables
Track Capital Assets / recognize accumulated depreciation
Customize reports, financial statements, Trial Balance
Merge duplicate accounts
Merge duplicate vendors or customers
Import accounts, vendors and or customers

Setup closing financial year, setup user password and security

SAGE 300 (ACCPAC)

This course is designed for accounting professionals who want to learn SAGE 300 formerly known as ACCPAC.

Students will use a “do it”, hands-on approach, with examples and exercises, allowing them to build their confidence to use the SAGE 300 software. They will focus on General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
